The first Superjet-100 fully assembled in series with Russian technology took off from Komsomolsk-on-Amur, marking a new milestone for the country’s aviation industry. The test flight lasted about one hour and was successfully conducted, according to the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).

The project is part of the import substitution policy applied by the Russian aviation sector. Several foreign systems and units were replaced with domestic equipment, including the new PD-8 engines developed by the United Engine Corporation (UEC).

The revised fuselage and manufacturing technologies of the Superjet had already been jointly certified by the aircraft developer, aviation authorities, and Rosaviatsiya. This allowed production to proceed based on serial project documentation, ensuring standardization and reliability.

The aircraft are being assembled at the aviation plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, where new domestically made equipment and assembly stands have been installed.

According to Rostec, 24 serial aircraft are currently at different stages of assembly. The state corporation emphasized that the new jet represents Russia’s ability to maintain its position as an aviation power, even in the absence of foreign suppliers.

“The first aircraft built with serial technology has taken off. It already matches the final configuration planned for delivery. The certification process is still underway, but the 24 machines at various stages of readiness confirm Russia’s strength in creating modern aircraft both in international cooperation and independently,” Rostec highlighted.
